American-made boots for American Heroes.
Boots for the Brave is a project born out of passion, reverence, and a heart-felt mission to serve our nation’s heroes. We are committed to honoring our injured servicemen and women and helping them regain a piece of their identity one custom, hand-crafted pair of boots at a time.
“These boots are giving veterans back a sense of identity in a way. I know, from personal experience, how regaining small freedoms like this can truly empower a person’s soul. It may seem like a pair of boots to the casual observer, but to us, it is an extension of our new bodies – an extension that is no longer defined by physical constraints.”
– CPT Ferris W. Butler, USA (Ret)

Our Mission
At Boots for the Brave, providing custom-made boots to our wounded veterans is more than just a project for us — it’s a mission to serve our military heroes who suffered an injury while in service to our country. It’s about bettering the lives of veterans affected by our Nation’s longest war in Iraq and Afghanistan, and showing our appreciation for their sacrifice. Not only are we hoping to give our veterans a piece of their identity back, but we hope to also truly empower their soul through our patriotic volunteer efforts.

Our History
Boots for the Brave was born out of an idea that brought together Lucchese Bootmaker, US Army Veteran and amputee, Ferris Butler, philanthropist, Loralee West, and NetJets. In 2006 when CPT Ferris Butler USA (Ret.) was deployed to Iraq, he sustained bilateral lower leg amputations, requiring him to discover new ways to adapt to his injuries. After regularly traveling to Texas to visit Loralee’s ranch with fellow veterans, he embarked on a personal quest to have a pair of cowboy boots augmented to work with his prosthesis. Loralee was immediately drawn to Ferris’ vision and saw how this could impact countless other veterans. Together, they co-founded Boots for the Brave in partnership with Lucchese Bootmaker, the nation’s premier custom bootmaker.
